JK2006 Some of the great session musicians deserve far more examination and programmes; The Wrecking Crew in California warranted, deserved and got an entire show devoted to them. We used to call the violinists "the mice" and I was one of the few (including John Barry) who could get them to stand up for some of the pizzicato passages.
JK2006 Wouldn't surprise me. My other much favoured drummers were Ronnie Verrell and Dougie Wright, both excellent. Ginger Baker played drums on Just Like A Woman and gave blood - he'd broken his foot and at the end of the session his bandage was scarlet with blood.
