Gambo was (and remains) furious after they dropped him after 19 years when he was falsely accused. I gather there was much discussion about my inclusion; the decision was that they couldn't deny me (thrice?) so they would stop listing the recipients year by year and replace it with this more general paragraph. Online their previous recipients do include Obie etc but just don't appear to include me. Considering that, before my year, lack of support meant they were going to scrap the event but the huge income and success of my 1997 event saved it, I hope they can (as one of my associate acts almost sang) Hold Their Heads Up. If it was a global thing and Phil Spector had won in the 60s, would he now be a non person? No backbones these execs, probably nervous about too much media attention to the costs and fees; a la Kids Company.

Yes, your name appears to have gone. They now say "previous winners include......."
To be fair, John Deacon, Obie and Brian McLauglin never get a mention either.

Strangely my name seems to have gone missing from the Past Recipients list. Did I dream it or has Munnsy morphed into Stalin?

The first time I met him was in 1972, when he was working with Camel at The Gemini Agency. He was at Simon Cowell's MITS Dinner last night, but I never got a chance to say hello to him. Lovely guy. (Actually there were a lot of faces from the old days in the Grosvenor House Great room last night!).

We go back a very long time (he was co manager of CAMEL when I was running Decca).
