JK2006 Thank you Patt; yes I deliberately avoided watching as I suspected my version would be missed out. I think the two talents - interpreting the songs of others and the ability to create originals - are equal and often sides of the same coin. I was never a great singer vocally but had imagination and production and arranging skill, so my performance of other people's work was often interesting (Hooked on a Feeling) and added something to a song but my own composing skills were strong too - especially lyrically.

I'm not musical,but there are some on here who have done it all....

...my question would be,for those like Mr King who are talented enough...is it easier to write a smash hit,than adapt an existing song?

Believed to be by far the best cover...better than the Devo version mentioned by the BBC



And of course one of the best original hits of the 60s
