Michael Off the top of my head:

"One" by U2
"Lush Life" by Nat King Cole (written by Billy Strayhorn)
"Cadillac Walk" by Moon Martin
...and lots of fun stuff by Abba and Kool and the Gang.
Martin Favourite lyric of all time thread!

Shot By Both Sides .......Magazine
Dont Fear the Reaper......B O C
Something In the Air......Thundercap and pals
Cygnet Commitee...........Bowie
Everyones Gone to the Moon..(artist unknown)
Women.....................Def Lepperd
American pie
Comfortably Numb..........Floyd.

Bit of a chicken and egg thing really, did we love lyrics before music?
Michael Did anyone else read this? According to UK literacy experts, many top 10 lyrics are "complicated" for many readers. I've been told this before, but never by a UK minister!

"Whilst we might think we know these tunes inside out, it's only on reading the lyrics properly that we realise that some of our favourite numbers are complicated."

He has a point, of course. More below.
