DJones	They had to buy parking tickets and almost weren't allowed in ... but then they stole the show. Must have been around 1980.
Martin	Which takes us back to the top of the thread Zoo. What "untrained" performers out there are actually naturals?
zooloo	A while ago Slade played at Knebworth or Reading or some such festival. When they came on they were met with a barrage of hostility but by the end the crowd were demanding they play "Merry Xmas Everybody" and went into raptures when they did. "We were always a good live act" says Mr Holder. To front a hostile mob and turn it around like that really takes something.
Martin	It was quite a moment at Knebworth at the first Nordoff Robbins event when Jimmy Page was re-united with Robert Plant, live on stage. Elton suddenly emerging under spotlight with George Michael singing "Don`t Let the Sun Go down On Me"(can`t remember where that was, but I had goosebumps), and then there`s the , um ,how can I put it?.. other end of the scale. The Clash at Hyde Park circa 78/79, a sudden surprise guest jumped on stage:S I tell you what readers and posters, I won`t mention his name as I have given him so much stick on here this year. Answers on a message boards please!
JK2006	You couldn't beat U2 playing Ben E King's Stand By Me as part of the warmups and then slowly realising it wasn't him half way through but the band playing along un-noticed, snuck onstage with no fuss. I loved that!
