JK2006 Thank you for that BB - I'd always assumed it was a Berns song (being a huge Berns fan and not that much of a Van Fan). You're never too old to learn.

Van Morrison's version of Bert Berns' superb song;

Brown Eyed Girl was an original Van Morrison composition and not a version of anyone else's song.
Admittingly Bert Bern's kept all the artist and songwriter royalties and didn't pay anything to Van so in a way Bern's owned it.
JK2006 And Good Morning Starshine; the wonderful Bob Crewe produced Oliver version of the Hair song. Bob was a terrific producer as well as composer (Four Seasons); I got to know him and his brother Danny quite well in the Sixties. God I've had a great life!
JK2006 Van Morrison's version of Bert Berns' superb song; surely one of the greatest ever summer hits. Along with Katrina's Walking, the tune that most says "Here Comes Summer". Good old Sounds of the Sixties! I'm a sunshine boy; April to September I spring into life!
