dixie According to some research, only 52% of vinyl bought today actually gets played. (And 7% of vinyl is bought by people who don't own a record player!).

The best bit about vinyl is the packaging.

Record Store Day is now only about vinyl. Which enterprising organisation is going to start the "nurture process" for CDs. Perhaps HMV (who aren't allowed to be part of RSD) should start "HMV CD Day" and get lots of special editions (with exclusive packaging) of hard to find CDs promoted.

JK2006 Much though I love vinyl, I'm far from convinced it will be anything more than nostalgic now.
