It's probably the splintering effect that the modern media has. It's not just the Internet. We all watch different TV channels already, and so share less and less with our neighbours or whatever. It could well be that the tabloids are the only real common denominator left for very many people - a scary thought indeed.

I hear more new and unsigned music than chart music, I think I allways have, the thrill of the new and not the force fed methinks.

I realise, looking at the new chart, I've not heard nine of the top ten.
I still listen to radio - mainly Radio Two; Radio One seems all talk these days.
I still watch TV but there's no Top of the Pops or Saturday morning chart show anymore, so I only catch oldies on TOTP2.
I'm an ordinary, average person.
And you know what? I don't care because the chart means nothing these days anyway.
Oh, I do watch loads of You Tube, My Space, Live Video stuff.
Could I be typical? Has the music industry lost the plot or am I a freak who does not behave like other music loving punters?
