Second album syndrome, also known as a "difficult second album" or "sophomore slump", refers to the disappointing follow-up to a well-received album or film. Conquering the sophomore slump, in the sight of music critics, is often a sign of future success.
You may prefer JK's version, but this is what you find in the dictionary. |

An album that's SOFT if you turn it down but gets louder if you want MORE. |

What is a sophomore album? |

Funnily enough I thought the obviously genuine proud Dad and the equally real loving daughter was the most charming and sweetest thing about the Brits.
I've had to put up with a lot of Keith over the years and actually rather like him. Vindaloo was genius.
I'm not at all a fan of Lily's sounds but she should cherish her family.
As for Universal, I think they are in the worst state of all the majors. And will explain that in another thread. |

Universal's pre-eminence and power means naturally they have more clout than the other 3 which isn't that healthy.
Lilly Allen unquestionably deserved something on the night but her career should flourish with her sophomore album while the rather vampish Amy Whitehouse may have trouble maintaining her exotic posturing. The fact EMI won nothing was quite bizarre and proof positive of a terrible decline last year.
And no Lily doesn't strike me as a 'spoilt brat'. Her father however , now that's another tale ... |
