Walter Sobchak A remarkable double CD of music from the films of Michael Mann has dropped on my doorstep. Compiled by Michael Mann himself ,it is the latest in the Director's Cut series. One of the most stunning tracks comes from Terje Rypdal the Norwegian guitarist and composer whose catalogue is on ECM and is worth the price of purchase alone. This compilation is full of other marvellous stuff-Salif Keita, the Prime Movers, Moby and Shriekback to name but a few. Released on March 19th ,it is that rare thing a well thought out ,intriguing and authentic compilation.
