Israel are able to enter, as did Morocco on the one occasion in 1980, because it's the Eurovision Song Contest, not the European. Full membership of the EBU is the only requirement.
I don't think Israel would object to Palestine's entry. Lebanon entered a good song two years ago, but withdrew, as they refused to guarantee that they would screen the Israeli entry.
By the way, Mika is interested in representing Lebanon in next year's contest.

It has to be Brian, seeing as I can't stand the song and think it is the worst possible Eurovision entry ever so it is bound to win!

I just heard Cyndi and didnt like the track at all, but she does seem to be the media fave.
I do hope this has not become a foregone conclusion as I really want Brian to represent us.

Morocco has been in a couple of times.
I don't think Palestine actually exists as an official region - what was Palestine under the British mandate is now Israel with some bits being absorbed by Egypt, Syria and Jordan.
The above could be wrong.
So Palestine in the Eurovision could spark all sorts of International squabbling (Well the US and Israel)... Hmmm sounds like a splendid idea let's do it!
