Welcome Lurker; now you've started posting, keep it up.
Orson (remember our old Starblvds boards?) went on to get signed and go to No1 but I never heard from them again after their initial gratitude. That happens a lot - Chumbawamba renegged on our agreed deal and Baha Men sank without trace after the hit but artistes tend to believe in their own abilities more when success arrives and to forget any earlier input as trivial.
Vacancy signed with a label, changed their name and sound, fired their talented producer and are going in a different direction as Go Audio. Good luck to them.
Nick Hall signed with publishers who convinced him he needed professional co-writing experience (a frequent approach designed to attract composers) and I think is still awaiting a label deal. Sadly, after Blunt/Morrison/Nuttini it's become a crowded marketplace and Stronger sounds Weaker against the younger competition.
Unless you sign up to an official deal, artistes tend to accept advice ravenously but shy away from commitment and involvement, especially if it involves payment. Who can blame them? "We baked the cake" they feel. "Why bother with the eggs?". And they never understand the concept of momentum.
Why nobody recently? I'm very, very, very hard to impress.

I read every day but haven't posted.
I've noticed three raves over new sounds - No Tomorrow from Orson, She Walks from The Vacancy and Stronger by Nic Hall.
Orson exploded but whats happened to the other 2?
And why nothing since then?
