"Just" audio (MUSIC) can compete against music-videos. To Songs, you can listen numerous times, almost all videos are boring after the second viewing.
Fair point. and it does seem to be easier to wrap video rather than just music with ads.
I suppose the only way around that is to create a promo vid for as many songs as possible.

Joost is complety different from YouTube. It's a closed system, a TV-on-demand-channel.
Maybe YouTube will have to become more like Joost to earn some money, but at the moment it's a different experience for the users.

great ideas, usually comes in twos. Like the way pepsi followed and almost ousted coke as the market leader, I think joost might, marginally, win the battle over youtube.com for quality content.
It's very similar to youtube apart from one key difference - it's securing copyrighted content and advertising deals first. Owned by those clever chaps at skype who have money to burn and know how to build a global brand...legitimately.
Which begs the question..when will the joost equivalent of myspace come along?
i.e. a legitimate celestial jukebox that pays its way. Or is it simply doomed because audio on its own simply can't compete with the compelling draw of moving pictures?
