To compare CDs with MP3 players is bizarre.

Why not compare CD players with MP3 players?

The comparison they make is unsupportable, CDs and MP3 players are not comparable.
Mart The first solution to stopping the landfill sites filling up with unwanted cd`s is to giveaway a download code number with the Sunday newspapers instead of a physical item.
Michael Here's a report that I found surprising, but perfectly obvious if you think about it: digital music is causing more waste than CDs.

It also confirms another comment that is often made: music is merely an add-on needed by other industries to sell their appliances.
