JK2006 sadly, the market place is FULL of artistes and bands and writers hoping (wrongly) that they are "the next big thing".
You can rip them off for millions if you pretend or claim to champion loads of them.
Even just charging small sums can line pockets.
So the selection process slips away ("We MUST have another pick for
Puzzled I agree the Record of the day has loads of rubbish picked but couldn't you find at least one a week?
JK2006 So you can be sure of one thing; if it goes up in Listen Here (and it's not one of mine!) it's a dead cert global monster.
Many, like ORSON (and Chumbawamba and Baha Men and others) will be UNSIGNED.
And remember... JK is never wrong!
Record of the Day I've stopped subscribing to Record of the Day as - in my humble opinion - most of the tracks they select are unremarkable ... so why don't you JK put up one track on a regular basis for discussion ....? Suggest you could stick to British artists ... and treat signed and unsigned equally ..

I reckon there are enough good tracks out there to find a decent one on a daily basis ...

Let's bring some fresh and interesting music to the fore!

Kev I heard a remix of it a few months ago before hearing the original version and there was a lot of excitement about it then. I just assumed the original was far better... but it isn't.

Funny style R&B you know. You can make a "hook" just by saying a particular word/phrase or saying it in an odd way I.e. "Errrbody in the club gets tips".
