I agree about how re-mastering of records often ruins the sound.. especially when the mastering engineer add tons of compression and limiting so that everything flatlines to just a feather under zero dB maximised to the max. The dynamics of the original recordings get lost in the process..

I don't post on Hoffman, but I have discovered some obscure AOR and Prog rock stuff from there and continue to do so. New stereo mixes and Beatles do nothing for me, I do like to keep updated on re-releases because my mates like them for their collections and I do like buying presents for people. From my experience Grateful Dead fans (Deadheads) are shallow people and love talking and comparing bootlegs (most of them sound shit or inaudible it's only the broadcasts tapes that worth getting if you're a fan of course) it's like comparing manhood's. I still find it hard to discover new rock music.
robbiex	I just see it as a way of categorizing the posts between "Your Views" for general things and "Tipsheet MB" for music. Why close it down? It's not doing any harm it will just mean all the music views will get posted in the "Your Views" tab.

Me	You could call it ‘Your Tipsheet Views’. (?) Anyway, it would be a shame to lose the brand. (I used to be a regular poster but haven’t been here for a while)
