Tom Stent Billboard and Variety claim he had hot country hits. Whether they’re dirges or not only his listeners and fans can tell.

PaulB Somehow, I missed this sad piece of music news.
I like most of his music and his larger than life personality.
They certainly don't make many like him anymore.
