Steve Ellis is a very underrated singer IMHO. He was about 17 or so when he recorded it and had a very mature voice. He still tours, in those package 60's concerts. I am surprised that Chris Farlowe is still going and still has a powerful voice I am told.
Rick Ah, thank you. The story I've read is that you 'ambushed' them on screen by revealing the facts. I believe Steve now lives, or used to live, in one of Roger Daltrey's properties.

Rick Sorry, JK, this is very anorakish, but the video of this song keeps popping up on my YouTube feed, I can't ever resist watching it, and it's just so evocative of a certain Sixties vibe...and I believe you had a role in its promotion. Didn't you have some of them on your show and made them talk about the fact onbly the vocalist was on the recording? How did all of that unfold?
