Big End Dead? No. Undergoing a very painful and slow change? Abso-bloody-lutely.

Television is next folks...all this stuff discussed on here years ago. Shame you missed it since things got a trifle fierce at one stage.
PBS Is it dying or is it just changing?

Sales of my music actually picked up this week.

I think it's cool the way the market has been thrown open with the opportunities brought to the independent artist through the digital revolution.

The only real advantage of the majors now is that they can pay for promotion and still have some influence with radio stations, etc. to get your music more "out there". But their influence is slowly weakening as they become less significant.

That's my opinion anyway.
Mart Not on this board at all, but have we witnessed a few slap on the wrists going on for typing out whinges in company time in A+R depts?
Shame.
Nice little job:evil:
JK2006 Yes I've noticed it too... a definite slackening off over recent weeks and the other boards have gotten thinner too with less and less significant discussions and more and more anally retentive posts.

I fear it's because the old model is going from dying to dead and the executives going from fear of firing to out of work - all of which was predicted here years ago.

Hopefully this board will slowly become a part of the regeneration of the new model.
Wot's going on? This board seems to have gone quiet.

So have the others - Velvet Rope and Record of the day.

I know it's ITC but that doesnt explain Rope.

I fear we are seeing the death of the music bizness
