(anonymous) Does anyone have more extensive information about Johnny Arthey? When was he born, where, where did he die? Does anyone have more information about him save his Eurovision participations (1970, 1971, 1977)?

Thanks in advance.
Anthony So soon after Ronnie Hazlehurst's death, someone else who conducted for UK at Eurovision has passed away. Johnny Arthey conducted and arranged for Mary Hopkin and Clodagh Rodgers in the 1970 and 1971 contests.
JK2006 Sadly true - I just spoke to his wife.
Quite sudden. Stomach tumour.

Funeral this Friday.
JK2006 Responsible for many of the very best arrangements on my hits, a lovely lovely guy - patient, creative, kind, talented and decent in every way.

It breaks my heart.

Anyone with more info please let me know.
