We like folk festivals, and see bands in pubs sometimes, though neither of us drink so it can get a bit tedious. He hates everything punk and Gong and Hawkwind, but puts up with it, and I suffer brass bands, jazz, and twerps with harmonicas for him.
I have got nothing eighties at all. Not one. You are right about the Mersey sound though, and the reggae.
I don't see pub bands these days, I have booked too many to last me a lifetime when I was a pub landlord. I never got the punk thing, I guess it reeked of hypocrisy, which was obvious, pretended to be socialists etc but they liked the fame and cash.
So I guess Mr Honey likes The Wurzels.

My partner took me to a CCR tribute band the other night, for a surprise. She thought it was the official band, the names are similar to be fair.
I bloody well enjoyed it and I recognized 2 members from Animals III and Kast Off Kinks right away.
I do take advantage of the theatres that near to us when I can. Even if it's for a tribute band but we need to like act though. It's use it or lose it situation. We have lost one main theatre during the pandemic near here.

I would. I love Jim Reeves and I don't care if the lyrics are trite or not. The voice is enough.
