Oh Very Young! Steve's songs are up there for me with Buddy Holly, Gene Pitney and Roy Orbison - far more my sounds than Elton or Presley.
I have never gotten in to Buddy Holly, I have tried and bought several collections, which have ended being used as coasters. I find his stuff bland even the material with Waylon Jennings, who I love.
Roy Orbison had an incredible voice and he was Wilbury also which is a bonus. I never see much of Orbisons records around, they could do with a few ressiues. I am not talking about The Sun Records and Monument era but the MGM stuff.
Roy Orbison's Many Moods is an incredible album but was only released in the U.S. |

No stories just adoration for many of his tracks. |

I did pick up a Gene Pitney CD (as a taster) in a charity shop, it was cheap as chips. I am impressed! I like Maria Elena, the lyrics and melody remind me of Glen Campbell.
Got any stories about Gene Pitney? |

It may be a personal thing but wasn't Father and Son absolutely fabulous? Top that, Elton! |
