JK2006 Sadly no; very few current industry friends (though many who were in it in my day). I don't think there IS an industry anymore. That is the problem.

Are you still in touch with industry figures JK. re the Tipsheet, there don’t appear to be many, if any, music business folk here. The Tipsheet might be a whole lot more interesting and possibly visited more by active people in the business if there were insights published to what’s going on in the industry.

Størm Guss Why are most posts here by someone whose ID is Green Man? Is he an industry figure under a nom de plume or someone valued by Jonathan King?

As a gay guy I find this embarrassing. I have fought for equality and acceptance all my adult life and believe it is right to do so. This 'performance' is not about that though. This has nothing to do with acceptance. This is ramming the 'sex' part of our homosexuality down other people's throats. It was totally unnecessary. I felt uncomfortable watching it. Your not helping us Olly.

The song was utter shite anyway.

I think the BBC is in a completely alternate universe. Most gay men and women are fully mainstream, not in some kind of separate little bubble of our own, and this is NOT what any of us want.

Good point on corporate group think Green Man. Who were the jury, are their identities and affiliations published?

I know several gay guys and few trannies.

However, they hate that media ram homosexuals in the public throats, especially in campy competitions and reality TV.

I vaguely remember when Pet Shops Boys, Rob Halford and Micheal Stipe all came out. Nobody cared and cares now and Judas Priest record sales went up.

A gay friend and I, saw a group of students with flags. He said to them in a very poofy voice, in which he does not have "Coming out is Sooo 1990". Then he held my hand for dramtic effect. Then he followed with "Look, nobody cares."

The glares he got, was enough to set him on fire.
