Kev Well here's my thought for what they're worth.

The bitter comments on your site are not good, you're reasons for doing this are to prove a point?!

I'm sure your voice worked with the indie band, but it's not strong enough for this kind of music. You need to get some lessons and practice.

I only listened to "easy", not a bad song but the chorus sounds like a pre-chorus, I was waiting for the hook to kick in and it didn't.

The recordings are good though and dropping your past to concentrate on your future will improve your image. The song, as someone else mentioned is good but needs work to get it there.

Good luck, thanks for posting here.

DJKZ JK you make me laugh lol but you are spot on here. I got bored too quickly but not because he is a bad singer or the songs are not any good. They just didnt do anything for me. I think you hit the nail on the head in terms of the advice you have given. Dan just be daring and do something outrageously silly and out of the normal singer/songwriter mode and then you can have an edge and at least provoke people to love you or hate you which would be good for you rather than ignore you. Good luck and pick other genres or classical music for your influences and go for it.
JK2006 But I suggest they are used in original ways or something different must strike the ear... Blunt's voice and phrasing, for example...
When I first heard BABYLON (ages ago; I seem to remember The Tip Sheet featured him ages before the UK industry latched on) I loved it because it was different but the rest of David's songs have been more of the same but not quite as good - for my ears anyway.
Dan is fine but very "in the shadow of the great God Bob"... who was an original even though he adopted Woody Guthrie's guitar and harmonica style (I may be wrong about that... Bob might have brought in the mouth organ himself) as it was his VOCAL STYLE that raised eyebrows.
So good luck Dan... but a bit more YOU and a bit less OTHERS would help.
Advice given to me when I asked for it 43 years ago, so I stopped writing about LURV and wrote about Going To The Moon, went to the top of the charts and became the British superstar and sex symbol you see today.
(Shouldn't that be CYMBAL? Ed)
