All completely bemusing to me this thread.
In 35 years of gigging, I have very rarely been offered drugs and on one of the gigs which I never intend to get, i.e. Prison, you get them in there???
You can`t even get beer when you finish the nights that us lot do , despite 24 hour apparent licenses.

He had no charms or skills to start with; waste of space, and he's not exactly a tortured soul. Any prick who forcibly injects a fan resulting in them OD'ing and doing a runner (as he did in Brighton a while ago) deserves the worst.

I gather there are much fewer drugs on all the VP wings where Pete will be - or they may even put him in the seg unit or in healthcare.

Seems to be a tragedy of his own making.
The Libertines "What became of the Likely Lads" was the only track of his I could name. I quite like that one.
BTW I was surprised how easy it was to get drugs in Risley. That was back in the mid 90s. Things may have changed.

Good call.
I agree - very sad.
Whereas our streets are populated by very dangerous people who use violence and sometimes kill - we see the resources of the state pointed towards celebs by the media in order to create yet more stories for public consumption.
There are many media types with drug problems ( they call it recreational drug use ) who can openly use this stuff and talk about it without arrest or jail.
There seems to be one set of laws for the state media and another for anyone who dares to show some talent.
What good will prison do for Pete ? A report yesterday said over 50% in jails are on drugs. This actually means he is more likely to re-offend in a jail than in society where I am sure that percentage is much lower.
Jails seem to be acting as a creche for the Social Services and Mental Health Services these days since all the genuine half way houses were "cut" by successive governments.
We are in danger of criminalising people for being ill. Surely real criminals should be in the jails rather than Council Tax protesters in their 70s or musicians who have an addiction ( fuelled by drugs from British run Afganistan !!! ) We could cut the source overnight if we wanted.
