Although no-one likes a sycophant, I find it annoying that people often mistake passion and excitement for flattery. I enjoyed JK's film a lot and I'll freely admit to being mildly obsessed with the soundtrack - but that doesn't mean I'm looking for anything, or that I'm trying to kiss arse. When I find something I enjoy, I can't help shouting about it and trying to get other people to share my passion!
Gracious me
I don't want to be called a sycophant by whoever that was in another thread but I really enjoyed the film.
Sorry!

You're right there! Some of them have been going round and round inside my head the last few days. A staggering collection of tunes old and new. I actually liked the fact that though older ditties like "Moon" and "Johnny Reggae" appeared in the film, the balance is tipped more to the newer songs and it's all the better for it.
One thing about JK that's always stood out is his ear for a great catchy tune and when you weigh up what's in the movie, that is one staggering collection of them that put many artistes complete recorded works to shame.
Then of course, there's the lyrics which JK has every right to be proud of... they actually have things to say and thoughts to provoke and how many stars today can claim that quality? The fact that some are offended by the Oscar Wilde song and others is brilliant because it's provoking a reaction. You can't say that happens very often these days - a reaction is better than no reaction or else people will forget. Whoever sees the movie leaves it with an opinion. Makes a change from seeing many a movie which is mere candy for the ears and eyes which is forgotten within a month.
Jeff Beck said many years ago he thought rock music was bland rubbish because "there's no danger... rock and roll is all about being dangerous!" Here we are in 2008 and JK is showing the way once again with tons of true danger!
I'm also thrilled that "He Stood In The Bath And He Stomped On The Floor" found a place in the film, highlighting and commemorating Joe Meek since Meek was a true outsider who did things HIS way and suffered for his sexuality. I greatly appreciated that.
"Earth To King" deserved a bigger vehicle and with "Vile Pervert - The Musical", JK has created a unique and memorable beast. Let's put it this way... not everybody is going to like the film but I'll lay any money they won't forget it either!

I was also at the screening. At the time I wasn't particularly moved by what I saw. But I watched the film again with some friends last night and had a completely different experience. Once you get over the film's rough presentation and sledgehammer assault of indignation, it's actually really funny, genuinely shocking and oddly charming. And those tunes - once they get in your head, there's no shifting them.

And doesn't JK make a fabulous woman!
Erm...not sure about that, but at the risk of being accused of sycophancy, I have to say I loved everything about the film. Never a dull moment, loved the music, loved the style and attitude of the whole package. Excellent.
