All enthusiasm for music is appreciated here Cat, whether it is the FAB chart or peoples' own efforts.
The Tipsheet is and always has been about love of music and never about hate. |

As followers on this forum know, initially both I and Zooloo used to post updates on the FAB Chart - which is 2 years old not 5. As we both tended to clash it ended up with just me doing the updates. I can't quite recall how that came about, but such is where we find ourselves today.
All music is relevant to the music industry. An I-pod helps people to hear music they like. The FAB Chart helps people discover new music. It only takes one person to hear a song and like it and pass it on to another who then passes it on to several others - music "sharing". I've certainly done that. I've even bought CDs by some of these irrelevant artists.
I enthuse about the FAB Chart because it is different and it showcases new talent. Maybe only approx 14500 people have visited the website, but - as I said before - people pass things on. Word gets around.
It's all fairly straight forward - for those who don't want to intentially complicate things.
Certainly, if JK wants me to stop doing FAB Chart updates on his site, I will. Nobody is obliged to read my posts or to visit that website.
IRC you'd posted the FAB chart first which is where I heard about it and for a time we did both post about it.
Initially you weren't as prompt as you are now that you got into the swing of it and in the "gap" I posted but after a couple of weeks worth we began to clash and I felt my post was the secondary one and redundant, so I stopped (I think at the time I stated this)
I posted and visit because it's an interesting and amusing chart. It has always provided an interesting diversion. Nobody has every claimed it is wildly significant. It's simply always given a wide mix of songs, some new some pleasant reminders (Some not so pleasant too )
If anybody finds it drivel and/or pointless the clue is in the tread title - it's the "FAB chart" bit that kind of gives it away. If you don't like it don't read it. It's not rocket science.
Why anyone would take against this I don not know.
If Cat has an "interest" in posting the chart so what. He hardly gains from it and even if he did this is the Tipsheet and tips, personal or otherwise, are welcomed.
I appreciate the time Cat gives to summarise the chart and will look forward to Cat's post on next weeks chart... and the next... and the next...
In the immortal words of Richard Dawkins - if you don't like it you can fuck off. |

The majority of visitors to this site like to read your update - please do not stop. The Fabchart does not pretend to be official but it is fun and brings new talent to our attention. |

Of course you miss my point. The Fab chart is no more relevant to the music industry that this board represents than the 'recent favourites' on my I-pod.
I ask again, why do you feel the compunction to post this drivel week in week out?
declare your interest.
