SW I'd sooner drill holes into my eye sockets than watch that film.

Can't knock those Abba songs...even when paraphrased (i.e. nicked) a la Steps, they still sound great.

Thanks for the tips SW but I reiterate - ANYTHING Tipsters love is fine by me in the tipping department. Old, new, established, obscure, Googled or oodled.

I have to say, having just returned from North Africa, nobody new can touch Michael Jackson in the fan stakes. Kids wear his hats, do his dance moves on the street, radio plays his old hits...

Not any new stuff (is there any?) but the old hits still reach millions more than any current acts.

And I finally got to see Mamma Mia as a movie. Every other songwriter in the pop world (I'm being specific) seems so irrelevant. It reminds me of what we should be aiming for.

SW Yes I can...

Isn't it a bit important to see whether an act you're tipping have actually acheived some mainstream success? It's easy enough to Google and saves you looking like a fool.

Come on people, there are some SERIOUSLY out of touch people posting on this board who seem unaware of what's going on. Tipster G is the only one who seems to have a clue. If the rest of you work in the industry (and I reckon you're not, or are on the outside looking in), shame on you for being so detached.

Another tip and unashamedly 80s is a girl group called Red Blooded Women. I feel that they're almost a bit too of the moment which makes them seem calculated, but they have some cracking songs.

I'm waiting for the inevitable tip of the dire Matthew Bennett Band...again...
