zooloo	Angel makes a good point. If the song was "There's nothing wrong with shagging girls" and especially if it was released by someone prosecuted for sexual misdemeanour with under-age females I think the reaction would be much the same.

JK2006	Well it might have been and perhaps should have been but the comments almost universally chose to misinterpret the lyric as about children. As for the exact term, it may well be that "making love" is a preferable way to describe acts in a relationship and I deliberately chose for Oscar to be blunt, straight forward and honest. And there's no reason why, when so much rap and hip hop can cut through the crap and tell it like it is, pop and rock should not be allowed to do the same. But again my point is - the majority chose deliberately to misinterpret and aim their arrows from those bent bows.

JK2006	You would not believe the homophobic comments I had about Wilde About Boys - all pretending to be offended by the lyric for the reason that it "advocated under age sex" - which it clearly doesn't - on the grounds that the word "boys" means children. I replied that, in that case, Our Boys, so widely praised by the tabloids as they murder innocent Arabs, must be very young and very small. Now I see that I Kissed A Girl has not provoked any similar complaints from those closet homophobes. Funny that. A "girl" is clearly over 16 whilst a "boy" is assumed to be below 16? Bollocks. No wonder it took centuries to equalise the ages of consent in the UK. Overseas, of course, the genders are considered equal - except in some of those bigotted places which regard same gender love as evil.
