I think the words "less sincere" sum it up.
A monument to dishonesty, superficiality, hypocrisy, self delusion and celebrity.

CIN stopped being watchable once Roy Kinnear died and Patrick Moore no longer took part. In those early days it was small scale and improvised. Very few top celebs bothered with it, but now they all realise they can cash in and are desperate to climb on board. It got too big and glitzy and, I think, less sincere.

I avoid any single second of Children In Need every year as I fear the infectious evil of the entire event.
But I have often been impressed by McFly who I think are better than assumed.

comments on the performances on CIN:
Girls Aloud - PLEEEEASE can someone sort out their monitoring and get them to sing in tune! Their live vocals are embarrassing.
McFly - Wasn't expecting it - but they were really great. Performed with belief and commitment..they've changed my opinion. And a good vocals!
Sugababes - Just dull and average....no charisma at all....and a dull version of the song (as discussed on here)....
