I saw quite a few TV adverts for new release albums over the weekend, (Simply Red, Leona, Now71 etc., etc.,). But it made me think. Why do we only see adverts for new albums? What about re-advertsing all the old albums. How about repromoting Beatles "1", Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon? After all, Proctor and Gamble still advertise DAZ and that's not new.
Record Companies should be looking at a range of catalogue albums, (for a major, say up to 100 titles), and be re-promoting them in the run up to the biggest sales period of the year.
I bet a few 10-secord spots for Beatles 1 would put it back in the Top 10.
