itsmyparty	Clearly think Leona has far more about her than you JK, and in a UK record industry that promotes plastic popstars who can't sing and indie dirge by the skip load I find she's a breath of fresh air. Must be good to have someone you can rely upon to deliver time after time live. Still think her first live rendition of Snow Patrol's Run last year on Jo Whiley's Radio 1 show is one of the most stunning performances, emotionally and interpretatively, I've heard in years.
JK2006	Personally speaking - I hear no talent whatsoever in either of them. Leona, like Carey, is an adequate session singer. She can hit the notes and show off but has no interpretive ability at all; like Mariah, who owes her entire career to being poked by a top industry executive. Leon is simply ordinary in every way. Very little of consequence has come from reality TV. I do like Will Young, not as a singer but as an entertainer and intelligent person. Kelly Clarkson was a decent rock chick but not a patch on the greats like Cher or Tina or Chrissie Hynde. Great performers add a huge chunk to a good song. Average ones need a good song to get anywhere.
itsmyparty	Not sure Leona will need to rely on the cabaret circuit when she's got stars like Justin Timberlake and Beyonce praising her to high heavens. Load of top-notch contributors wanting to work with her on the next album as well. Throw in being the top selling female artist in the world over the last year, biggest selling single in America this year etc and even if you clearly don't rate her I find your prognosis a tad pessimistic shall we say. On Leon - there's an interesting tone to his voice but he needs to go away for 2-3 years and gig constantly, learn the guitar and then come back. His confidence in live performances in poor and he tanked his big shot X-Factor launch at the start of the series. His sales are flatlining and there must be a worry whether he'll be kept on by Syco/Sony beyond this album.
Denise	I still don't rate Leona at all. I give her another two years at the top before she has to rely on the Cabaret circuit. As for Leon; he needs to ruffle his hair, don his old jeans and pick up a guitar. Get back to being himself. Leon has a real natural talent, buried beneath the "experts" artificial style. Leona has an average singing voice bolstered by style and hype. I know some will disagree, but let's see what happens in two years.
itsmyparty	Apparently the mids are missing all iTunes data due to a reporting fault at Apple, so the singles chart is only physical sales and the smaller digital stores. Hence Oasis at #1 and the X-Factor Finalists rebounding to #4. Word has it that Leona sold 28,000 of Run on iTunes on Sunday alone and is set to smash the digital only release record out of sight this week when she hits #1.
