The kid on the Slippy-T song doesn't have greatest voice, but the track sort of ate its way into me as it went on. Nice guitar solo. It pressed a few of the right buttons before the end.
Good the see the Partridge Family get a mention. Their music was always cheesey but cool.
The Cat
A new Number One and four decent New Entries.
I'd hoped Circus Closet would reach the top because theirs is a really cool track, but young Jackson Cook leaps ahead of the field. He is closely followed by Simon Sumner with an easy and melodic slice of Valentines Love at 2.
The Gollywog Song is at 12. On the Fab Mag page I can't help noticing a similarity in appearance between Craig Smith and Jackson Cook. Maybe it's just the hair, or the guitar.
Slippy-T at 15 reminds me of the Manchester sound of the mid 80s - very Happy Mondays / Inspiral Carpets. His son Ollie doesn't have the most amazing voice but it fits well with this song which works on several levels.
Ponyno brings us another love song for Valentines Day at 18. In a laid back, careless way, this is maybe my favourite of the new entries, but that's probably just the mood of the day.
