giles2008 Bout time someone mentioned the best band in the world on this site. I remember seeing them at the Clapham Common Pride some years back. They followed Erasure and blew them off stage. think my recent favorite has to be the live version of "Baby can i invade your country" from the "Dee Vee Dee" live dvd. Wish Ron would write a symphony, hes more than capable.
emmapeelfanclub I agree. Sparks are criminally under-rated and overlooked. I think one reason why is because they are eclectic and they keep on exploring. Unfortunately that is not acceptable behaviour - you are supposed to stay in your pigeonhole and toss off the same old same old year after year. How can one possibly even categorise Sparks?

I think the Noughties has probably been the Mael's finest decade yet in terms of originality. And they still retain a neat sense of humour... not many bands can claim that.

I love and treasure them. If only they did own the BBC!

in my book they get better and more original with each passing decade....
