Being a conspiracist Dixie, is this the reason it has stayed up, and been completed and serviced on time??

I don't think you can include the London Eye. It was a 100% private venture.

I don`t know how many of you remember a post I did just before xmas, about the shopping complex down here, being shut over the festive period due to the car park sinking..here is a quick resume.
The local government rushed the plans through, and built the complex on flood plain land, the centre was re-opened on Christmas eve, and the car park was propped up on iron stilts.
Last week, it was announced that the whole car park , is going to be demolished and re-built.
It does seem to be a very English thing, to rush buildings to deadlines, when somebody obviously knew that the job was not possible without corner cutting.
Had Wembley been finished on time, I would hazard a pretty decent bet on it being closed due to a building fault soon after.
And let`s face it? These large complex structures, could kill and injure thousands of people at the cracking of one single brick.

The Wembley staduim is getting a joke. it's taking longer than expected. the arch doesn't fit. just major problems.
Millennium stadium is still being built but it is good enough to play football.
Arsenal stadium took a year to build.
Everything the government done has been a disater. London Eye didn't work at first, Millennium Bridge wobbled and it cost more to repair than build and who can forget the Dome - it's still costing money, and decaying.
Just leave things alone; put Tax payer's money into good things.
The price for all of this could go towards hospitals, schools, prisons - too many to list.
