JK2006 Oh I'm sad; when I was running Decca I was very involved in negotiating with him and although he was clearly not the easiest of men, he did fight for his clients and I always got on fine with him (though we didn't manage to retain the Stones).
DJones Allen Klein, a music executive who managed the business affairs of Sam Cooke, the Rolling Stones and, for a short time, the Beatles, and who was both admired and feared for his reputation as a fierce negotiator, died on Saturday in Manhattan, where he lived. He was 77.
