Youtube can often muffle sound and give a false reverb, especially when you only use a 192kbps copy of the music. We never use the top quality track for Youtube. Jessica's vocals are intentionally blended deep into the track but the actual mp3 is much clearer than on the Youtube video. No keyboards involved on this track. It's not the muffled sound or the sample rate, it's the actual sounds, production and arrangment that make it sound like an old casio keyboard on demo.

I love the old footage too. Not sure if that's Jessica Dale in parts of the video? Real hardcore audiophiles will groan about the quality but us ordinary humble listeners can enjoy music on different levels. The sound here isn't as bad as some 256kbps mp3s which are on the market and people pay good money for. Digital music is known for its low quality and so we have to look beyond that to the tune, rythm, pacing, etc. If you can enjoy music on the radio then you can enjoy an mp3. I enjoyed this. Maybe I'm just in a positive mood, but there's no way anyone can fairly describe it as horrible. I'd love to hear more of Jessica Dale. Sounds like she has a talent.

The sound isn't that great on the video. Much clearer on your Myspace and even clearer on the download so I'll guess you used a lower quality file for the video. And if you used windows movie maker that seems to numb parts of a music track too. Since Youtube began to focus on HD I've noticed a general drop in quality of all the non HD videos. Maybe you should try it on LiveVideo.com which seems to have better clarity, although it has less traffic.
I like the arrangement. Being a Northerner I quite enjoy brass (or silver) bands although they don't seem to transfer well to video channels. The kinda distant effect of the vocals only works if you adjust to the idea. Quite a few less commercial concept/progressive albums of the early 70's worked with similar ideas, so it might be a bit retro for some. I applaud the fact that it doesn't just follow the norm, but you have to be prepared to be criticised for it too. A lot of people don't want or accept this kind of off-beat thinking. I doubt you'd get past the BGT panel.
Love the old black and white footage in the video which fits well with the music.
