The Cat The Tories are the old people's party? Most old people I know vote for Labour. The young people seem to be supporting the Tories and they view Gordon Brown as old.

Re the schools music competition, I see music as an important part of the curriculum which has, thus far, been focused mostly on Classical. This competition could be a good thing.
david I quoted JK on outeverywhere.com and have actually got 2 ticks- that's a first ...
david I just can't imagine young people voting for the old people's party.

but maybe they too will come to experience the Conservatives as the party of big health cuts and bodies on stretchers in hospital corridors.

this is what we had when the Conservatives were last in power.
Pumpkinhead I think it's a good idea. I expect David Cameron is intelligent enough to know that this won't win him votes, especially as the people it is aimed at are below voting age.

I have criticised the Conservatives a few times on twitter even though I mainly support them, so I'm not one of those who would just say it's a good idea even when I might think it's not. It's worth noting that the contest will be run by people from the music industry and not by politicians.

It's about promoting young talent. Somebody has to be lined up to replace the bitter old sods who's run has long since come to an end.

(excolet on twitter)
JK2006 I was most taken by Cameron's detailed love of music and his passion for "that 80s band Radiohead".
