BR Thanks Terry. That is awesome info.

It is quite stunning to see a show on a digital channel with no budget for any of the artists actually charting so many and so high.

My inbox is full of adverts for Alexandra Burke's single - but I have had none for these acts - so unless someone has either watched or been told about these acts they dont even know anything about them.

It will be interesting to see if once the chart is announced whether these acts will get playlisted by the BBC stations ( which they should ) and then they may sell many more copies.

The fact that the artists will keep the net profits means that each act will also be earning some money out of this. Even though at the moment it is small change compared to big acts - it will help them to further their careers.

I have an idea that SKY ONE could develop a new TOP OF THE POPS Sunday evening programme called TOP OF THE DOWNLOADS where they could have 5 artists perform every week - and then offer the downloads LIVE for the following week's charts.......and also report on the Chart and how the previous week's acts performed......

If SKY then link MUST BE THE MUSIC for new acts into the equation - we could see a whole new Chart Phenomena - and it could move the goalposts away from Simon Cowell and away from the major labels - whom we all know are finished and dont deserve their chart positions which are basically brought by their influence with the BBC and especially RADIO ONE which is a station that sold its soul to the Corporate Devil many years ago.
terrylamps Just for you BR, here's an update of all the tracks from Must Be The Music that are in the chart;

6 Emma's Imagination
15 Pepper & Piano
24 Tears
80 Kyle
93 Daithi
108 Trinity Band

Mind you, sales wise the whole lot added together doesn't even make 40,000! But it certainly is a refreshing
change to see a show based on real performance and obviously a really good idea to make those performances
available to download, almost immediately.

Don't think it will be number one this week BR, it's 22,000 behind on today's numbers. Mind you there are now three Must Be The Music tracks in the Top 30, Emma's Imagination New at 7, Pepper & Piano at 15 and Pictures New at 24

3 songs is pretty impressive for a digital channel show. All three acts are very very strong. Emma is a fantastic songwriter ; Pepper and Piano have a great song and the singer an awesome voice similar to Alison Moyet : The Pictures are a very decent band who rock...........

Number One is beyond them then - not got the profile yet - but for a show to create 3 chart acts before the final shows the power of "Must be the Music".....

Very impressed.

Thanks for the info by the way. Appreciate you taking the time to point this out.
