Prunella Minge Yes, 'Kind of' really grates. I think using 'like' to cue a quote, as in "She was saying to me, like, 'Watch out girlfriend!' and I'm like, 'Talk to the hand, girl!' and she's like...", really merits a briskly corrective slap.
JK2006 And Rupert the Grint says "kind of" 70 times in 6 secs of interviews about the final (2) Harry Potter films.

You know, I think it's kind of time we clamped down on cliched repetitions amongst our minor celebrities.
