My sources (impeccable) tell me it's 18 on just over 8000 sales; X Cardigan is top with 166,000 so far.
Why on earth are 8000 people stoopid enuff to pay 79p for four minutes of silence?

I hear the stoopid Cage thing is way down but on the edge of the 20. Any confirmation?

I still think the Christmas No. 1 has value - It certainly did last year. But I still think the Slade/Mud/Gary Glitter/Wizzard years were the best. Now That's What I Call Christmas!!

I'm not sure what question you are asking, but this Sund, 19th December is the chart that will contain the Christmas No. 1 single.
Next year is more interesting as it will be one of those rare occasions when the Christmas No. 1 will be announced on Christmas Day itself. (If X-Factor is still going, and Simon is involved, he won't be able to jet off on holiday until Christmas week itself, as opposed to the week before Christmas week as he has done this year).

My sources (impeccable as always) say NO, this Sunday is the Official Christmas Chart (Santa says so)... I'm rather delighted that silly Cage Against The Machine spoof won't be No1 - you don't beat stupidity by further silliness. I predicted years ago that we had totally devalued the No1 slot after wrecking the power of the chart and now even the Christmas No1 is meaningless.
