dixie	It's the beginning of the end. HMV are neither a specialist any more nor a discounter. 60 shops to go this year. 100 will probably go next year, then the rump will be sold to whoever identifies a way to extract any remaining value.
the Artful Dodger	Here is what Robert Swannell , chairman of both M&S and HMV, should do immediately. Put HMV concessions, similar to Harrods in the 100 biggest M&S Stores and stock the Top 30 albums and major catalogue releases by heritage acts. Take advantage of the huge foot fall and sell more records to the "Grey market"
JK2006	60 stores to close - 40 HMV and 20 Waterstones - why would anyone go to HMV in these Amazon days?
In The Know	I'm hearing that Christmas sales were dire ... and they may not be able to meet bank payments ?
