Kev	Can you see some of the new bands lasting like they did? I think not. Why not? How can you tell? Would you have heard potential in Queen after or before their album? It wasn't great! I think what I said still stands. It's not about talent shining through, it's about people recognising and nurturing talent.
Big End	sure the money used to help. It would be silly to deny it, however, there was tremendous ability already there coupled with excellent songwriting capability, which all went to contribute towards their longevity. Can you see some of the new bands lasting like they did? I think not.
Kev	Real talent used to shine through? I think it's more the case that someone was clever enough to spot the potential and put money into development. That's what's different with todays industry surely?
Big End	that's hilarious and flattery will get you everywhere. "At a guess", is the correct guess since Queen is right answer. In all fairness, EMI had already done the right thing and picked them up. However, it goes to show the difference between then and now...real talent used to shine through. I saw them one year later and, lo and behold, stars playing to sell out audiences.
JK2006	But does Liam have buck teeth? Of course Robin Bee Gee fits that physical attribute but Big End is far too young to have seen them (not me though; I championed them from Day One, for which they wrote me a hit - I Started A Joke - but took it away when they realised how good it was).
