He's a phenomenal talent and indeed one of the best parts of the 25th anniversary celebrations of Les Mis along with Colm Wilkerson (who still has it).
Alfie's voice embarrassed the Jonas Brother that was foolishly placed in that situation, and simply couldn't sing with him or the other real singers.
We're going to see him at The Queen's in September.

He was one of the best things about the Les Miserables anniversary show. He was discovered in a Blackpool garage working as a mechanic. A customer heard him singing and suggested he go and audition for The Doyly Carte company.
In 2011, Alfie Boe performed for English National Opera (ENO) in "La Boheme" from January 22-27 and "The Mikado" from February 26-March 11. Alfie performs concerts in Idaho, U.S.A. March 16, 18 & 19. Alfie appears in a "The Great British Musical - The Famous and The Future" at the Criterion Theatre on April 10, the Classic Brit Awards ceremony at Royal Albert Hall, London on May 12, in concert at Isle Of Man on May 14, then returns to "Les Miserables" at the Queen's Theatre, London, U.K. from June 23 to November 26. This is followed by a U.K. concert tour commencing in Bristol on December 6, London December 7, Brighton December 8, Cardiff December 12, Birmingham December 13, Liverpool December 14, Gateshead December 16, Blackpool December 17, and Nottingham December 18.(From Wikipedia)
