MCR Media Now Top 10 on itunes, plus various mixes further down, big campaign on Twitter.
the Artful Dodger As someone who invests occsionally in these specialist "novelty" markets, I can assure you that that they only exist-Christmas No 1 etc -to provide the bookmakers with some cheap publicity. The bookmaker , usually W Hill or P Power do not wish to lay any sizeable bets. £50 would be a maximimum stake to a single punter in this market.
This song would probably be 10-1 to be a top 20 entry , on
JK2006 It was 16-1 when I looked BB and, to clarify, after I put on my small bet the odds lengthened from 25-1 to 50-1 so I put on another £5. Subsequently they went to 16-1 and stayed there. Let's wait and see how it fares on Sunday week.

Still at 16-1 to beat those ghastly out of tune Military Wives of Killers to Xmas No1!

This song was briefly 16/1 with William Hill as a result of you putting on a bet large enough to move the odds. After a few days it had drifted to 25/1 and is currently at 66/1 not "still at 16/1" as you state.

It's a shame when the facts don't support a particular story and in the case of you, JK it's slightly hypocritical as that line is one that you frequently quote about other sectors of the media. Alex Day never featured in the contenders list of any other betting organization who had a book for the Christmas number one. When you first put up the video I said the song was very average and predicted it wouldn't make the Christmas Top 20 never mind number one and have no reason for changing that view. Hype is a wonderful thing but as you know it should be done by stretching the truth not breaking it.
giles2008 Simons Cabbage Patch Dolls have sold 68,000 copies. Matt Cardle had sold twice that this time last year. Not a good return considering the huge audience that watched the final.
