RosemaryE Sorry to keep talking to myself but Will Hodgkinson in The Times in a article about the
Christmas #1 said this:

That leaves a rank outsider for the Christmas No 1 that could just break through. Katherine Crowe is a 37-year-old singer-songwriter from the Isle Of Man who went to Abbey Road earlier this month to record a version of Charlie Chaplin’s Smile with the London Metropolitan Orchestra.

It’s a classy supper club-style rendition of a song that’s all about wishing for a better tomorrow, which takes on extra poignancy when you discover that Crowe has terminal cancer and only months to live.

Getting her single, which is raising money for new cancer treatments, to No 1 would be to make a dream come true.
RosemaryE To update. Kath is still #5 in Indie charts and now #8 in BBC Scottish Charts
www.officialcharts.com/scottish-singles-chart/ and #40 in the New Zealand Itunes
Chart which is most unexpected. She has three interviews going out on European Radio stations
today.

All done by sheer people power. Please support. Thanks
RosemaryE Happily retired for a couple of years I have dragged myself out for a few minutes
to help Katherine if I can.
History of Katherine is that as a singer/songwriter, when I did PR and promo she received great support on regional radio stations, BBC Radio 6 and BBC radio 2 for her album 'Missionary Girl' but unfortunately her indie record label went 'belly up' basically - the same old story. During this time she also received great support from Paul Kramer (Hitsheet), David Stark (Songlink), Jan Van Mesdag and Tony Moore who welcomed her to the Kashmir quite a few times. She was also included on a Tipsheet 'new music' CD.

Unfortunately she now has a very aggressive form of cancer which is heart breaking as she is only 37, married with two young children.

She has recorded a single with the London Symphony Orchestra which as the title says reached #5 in the BBC Indie Charts and topped the Itunes singer/songwriter chart last weekend.
All support for Katherine will be gratefully received.
