BR Thank you

Interesting that the Crossrail Proposal may have to include a future 2000 capacity entertainment venue on the site if proposals from G-A-Y are taken on board.

Interesting that Mean Fiddler are not fighting the closure.

They have The Forum venue which at present is only doing around 5 - 10 gigs a month. The closure of the Astoria would mean that they would own a venue which would therefore mop up all the Astoria and Mean Fiddler gigs thus making better commercial sense.

BR Evening Standard reports that Astoria/Mean Fiddler could close December 2008 beacuse MF lease runs out then and the site could be leased for more value for Shops and Flats by its owner or compulsory purchase for Crossrail.

Any other venues under threat ?
