The N word is probably in more lyrics now than ever before.
My brother-in -law's family's dog was called "Nword" in the sixties before anybody thought anything of it. The family were not even slightly racist and the word was usually used to describe a colour, as far as I remember.
The dog lived until he was seventeen, by which time attitudes had changed and it was difficult to get him to come back on a walk because we had to whisper his name.
