Tax is paid on income or profits, tax isn't paid on benefits, SO THERE IS NO BEDROOM TAX
There has been a reduction in benefits related to the property you live in, related to any unoccupied bedrooms that are present. There is no tax, there is a reduction in benefit, a benefit that is at a legally applied rate as dictated by the Government of the day, in fact a majority in Parliament. Thats how it works, it isn't a tax its a benefit reduction.
Don't start coming on here and stating that it is the same as a tax, or that is amounts to a tax. IT DOESN'T
TAX is just being used as an emotive media and socialist word to spin the benefit reduction into a demonised policy of the Government. And by that 'spin' it has the populus and the mass media swallowing the name and using it verbatim in news reports and media headlines with all the ill informed emotive weight behind that 'tax' word..................its a form of invasive misdirection and jerrymandering of the debate |
