Agree about the Queen - but all Phil has done is follow her around
With gaffs and grumps
I knew a guy who worked for him as driver
Never acknowledged by Phil - in ANY way
Not even a nod or goodbye when he left after 5 years
It was if he was a bit of the car
The car was a green London taxi with Phil's coat of arms on the front in black
Phil used this to lunch/dine about the West End and liked its fast turning ability in small areas
But yes he has stamina
So did Arkle

Watching the ceremony for the Commonwealth Games, how can anyone not be full of admiration for these two very elderly people, their stamina and determination to continue their duty?
The Royal Family costs us very little and does an enormous amount of good. But leaving aside the economic and social benefits - what splendid dedication from two people who didn't ask for (or, I suspect, want) this job.
Prince Phillip wasn't forced to marry the Queen, so he had a choice, and also the Queen can abdicate anytime she wants to. They live and travel in extreme luxury, who wouldn't want that lifestyle.
I can't think of any economic or social benefits that they bring. Do they bring tourists? wouldn't the tourists come anyway. |
